(only available to LSU-Alexandria students, faculty and staff)
There are two main ways to access LSUA Library’s subscription and full-text
databases.
All start the same way: Click on link to the database you wish to use on the
LSUA Library database page (http://library.lsua.edu/databasesClassic),
then
-
If you get a screen that asks for: User ID or Alternate ID and PIN, you have
reached the LOUIS EZProxy authentication server.
-
Your User ID is the number on your LSU Alexandria I.D. Card.
-
Your Alternate ID is the number on your LSUA Alexandria I.D. Card, minus the
last three digits.
-
Your default PIN is “changeme” without the quotation marks.
-
To change your PIN, you need to log into iLink from a Library Services
webpage or go directly to:
http://lsua.louislibraries.org/uhtbin/webcat
-
Then select My Account from the root menu bar near the top of the page
-
Then select User PIN change and follow the directions.
-
Then, from the drop down menu, chose LSU Alexandria
-
Click authenticate. (Once you authenticate, you will remain logged in to the
EZProxy server as long as you use the same browser window open.)
-
If you select access a database marked with an asterix*, you will get a screen
from the database you have selected asking for username and password:
-
You will need to either
-
Go to the James C. Bolton Library and present your LSUA I.D.
Card; the staff member will then give you a handout with the Username and
password for LSUA subscription databases that do not go through the EZProxy
server; or
-
If you can establish your eligibility, call (318) 473-6441, and the staff
member will give you the username over the telephone, if you
call when the library is open. Library hours are posted at
http://library.lsua.edu/location
on the library website; or
-
You may also email
GVgulHR@jRTA.edu
from your LSUA email address; you will receive an email response.
